spiritual care

for social justice activists and advocates

with Chaplain D. Eli Patiño

I practice spiritual care from an interfaith and value-based approach to spiritual accompaniment.

In this work, I center:

queer

BIPOC

trans and non-binary

religious, spiritual, agnostic and atheist

social justice activists and advocates

As social justice activist and advocates, we seek justice, transformation, reparations and reconciliation. In doing that work, we encounter a broken world at every step of the way. Taking care of ourselves is crucial to the sustainability and health of movement work, and how we participate in that work.

A chaplain's role is to provide a healing • guiding • sustaining  • reconciling  •  nurturing • liberating  •  empowering presence to a person navigating transitions, crisis, existential questions and moments.

I respect all beliefs and do not promote any specific religious practice or dogma.  Spiritual care is a space for clarifying, affirming, and understanding our identities, purpose, and approach to life. While spiritual care is not therapy (read more here) it is a place where you can navigate the challenges you are facing through the lens of your spiritual and philosophical understanding of the world.
